CoSML simulation modeling capabilities

Complex System Modeling Language (CoSML) - Proprietary and agnostic modeling language

Build Powerful & Dynamic Simulation Models

Developed over 10 years of research in academia by experts in complex systems modeling before being augmented by 10 further years of development by the Cosmo Tech engineers, Cosmo Tech’s proprietary and agnostic Complex Systems Modeling Language (CoSML) is core to model and simulate physical assets, industrial systems, procedures, and processes. CoSML represents a real system with reference to four key components of that system.

Entities

Entities

  • The concepts and behaviors in a system are represented by CoSML as entities, along with their associated state and rules.
  • These entities are then grouped into subsystems as hierarchies, and each hierarchy is represented as its own entity in the broader system, too.
  • Example:  assets, people, production robots, trucks, tasks, trains .
Hierarchies

Hierarchies

  • Hierarchies have their own rules, states, dynamics, and timescales.
  • Example: a factory that groups several production lines and that further groups various machines; a multi-modal transport system that groups sub-networks; an asset system that groups linear and non-linear assets.
Interactions

Interactions

  • The interconnections between two entities define how they communicate. Interactions can be structured or unstructured.
  • An interconnection can have its own rules, state, and dynamics within its own time-scale.
  • Example: a supply chain network, railway network, electrical network, task precedence relationships, and dependencies.
Dynamics

Dynamics

  • Dynamics are actions performed by each component of your system. These actions are scheduled either in parallel or in sequence across a wide range of time-scales allowing for multiple temporalities in the same model.
  • Example: Stock management, interaction dynamics between asset aging, or maintenance operations on assets.

Watch our masterclass webinar to expand your knowledge on optimization & simulation.

Presented by Pierre-Alexis Gros, our Chief Scientist and moderated by Stephanie Kidder our CMO, this masterclass consist of a 40-minute presentation of different concepts and use cases and a 20-minute Q&A session with the audience.

This interactive session is designed for innovation specialists across the Manufacturing, Aerospace & Defense, Automotive, Energy & Utilities, Consumer Goods sectors or anyone interested in gaining insights into simulation and optimization for solving the challenges posed by today’s uncertain world.
